December 8, 2021 Everyone loved the fish!

Hoi everyone! I'll get to explaining my title in a bit. My English teachers always taught me to have a good hook... pun intended *wink wink*. Anyway, this last week of learning has been really good! There are a couple of new things I've started doing since the last email, one of those being workshops. The workshops are just little online classes that you sign up for to teach you anything from the timeline of the Book of Mormon to posting on social media while on the mission. I went to one called Normal and natural interactions and it was really good for multiple reasons. I thought the teachers were really good at explaining the importance of having charity (the pure love of Christ) with you as you served and taught. They also performed a comedy sketch of sorts at the beginning which was the comedic relief I needed that day. The other thing me and my companion have started doing is called Helping Others. It's basically a mock lesson with an investigator where you go through getting to know them and teaching them a lesson. Our first one went alright but we got some good feedback that was really beneficial in helping us learn what was good and bad about the lesson. The second lesson we both felt really good about. The "investigator" was really responsive and the spirit was definitely present as we taught. Something significant that I've gotten out of these experiences is just the importance of loving those you teach. When you really care how they're feeling and just listen to them it makes all the difference.
So my title. I've got this giant stuffed fish plush that I like to take to all the places I travel and I do a majestic pose as I look off into the sky and hold my fish and we get a great picture every time. In one of my district meetings, I showed them the fish and without even telling them how I bring it on all my journeys they were like "You've got to bring that to the MTC!", so I guess I just have to bring it.
I'd just like to end the email by sharing a scripture. 1 Nephi 3:7 "And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them." I know this is a pretty referred scripture but I find it to be so inspiring every time I read it. I know that that statement is true. God will always provide a way for us to accomplish the things he has asked of us. That doesn't mean the path will be easy, Nephi definitely didn't have it easy, but if we rely on Him we will be able to endure.
Thanks to everyone who's taking the time to read my emails, I really appreciate all of you! I hope my emails will help keep you updated on how I'm doing as well as help you feel the spirit.
1. For those of you who don't know him... Fishbert
